SSI and everwave: Partnering for Cleaner Oceans in 2025

Exciting news for 2025! SSI and Blue Oceans are joining forces with everwave, a pioneering impact company dedicated to protecting our planet’s waterways. This partnership marks a bold step toward tackling plastic pollution before it reaches our oceans—ensuring a healthier, cleaner future for marine life and divers worldwide.
Who Is everwave?
everwave is a Germany-based environmental company that uses cutting-edge technologies to remove waste from rivers—the primary highways transporting plastic pollution to our oceans. By intercepting trash before it reaches the sea, everwave prevents harm to marine ecosystems and keeps our dive sites free from plastic debris.
everwave cleans up the environment: garbage boats are used to prevent waste from entering the oceans. Artificial intelligence assists in the cleanup missions to detect and analyze waste. The collected material is then recycled through environmentally friendly processes and, in addition, the public is made aware of environmental issues. everwave is organizing long-term and holistic cleanup projects e.g. in Thailand, Cambodia or Albania to ensure clean waters. Until today everwave has already collected over 1.9 million kilograms of waste from rivers.
By working with local communities, everwave also raises awareness about sustainable waste management and plastic reduction at its source.

Starting today, SSI, Blue Oceans, and everwave will work together throughout 2025 to fight plastic pollution:
For every new SSI Professional certified in 2025, SSI will support everwave in removing 3 kilos of trash from rivers worldwide.
This means that every new Dive Instructor and Divemaster is directly contributing to cleaner oceans—before even setting foot in the water!
